What is your role at the company?
I’m a L1 systems engineering doing mostly general troubleshooting and fixes, while also helping with backups and restores.
What do you like most about?
The work atmosphere and collaboration with how everyone is willing to help resolve issues, also, the lunches on Friday’s.
What do you like most about your job?
It’s fast paced and there is new stuff to learn every day. There’s never a boring moment.
What is your favorite part about working for KT?
The people I work with and the laid-back environment that I feel helps me succeed.

Besides browsing technology related reddit pages. I like to view threatpost and securityweek websites.
If given a chance, who would you like to be for a day?
I think it would be fun to be Kevin Mitnick for a day. He’s one of the leading security researchers and an elite white-hat, and his knowledge on a lot of subjects is incredible.
People would be surprised if they knew:
Growing up I could run a VHS player, and our windows 3.1 PC before I could tie my shoes.
What kinds of hobbies and interests outside of work?
I like to play softball and go golfing in the summer as well as hiking. I also like watching movies, tv shows and playing lots of different video games.
What’s your favorite thing to do in the IT field?
I really enjoy security related things, like trying to figure out information about people sending spam/malicious emails. I also enjoy learning PowerShell and Bash scripting when I have the chance.
What’s on your bucket list?
Travel to SE Asia and try real authentic Sushi and Pho.
What’s your favorite movie of all time?
Not a movie, but a movie series. It would be all the James Bond 007 films, especially the campy Roger Moore films.
Do you have any pets?
Yes, my wife and I have 2 dogs and 1 cat. One’s a blue heeler, and the other is a malamute/German shepherd mix. The cat is an American shorthaired tabby.

Rodd Ahrenstorff is the Director of Business Operations for KT Connections, as well as a member of the company’s ownership team starting in 2014. Rodd has been working in the computer and telecommunication fields for over twenty years—a term during which he has held a number of leadership positions. In the past, he has served as a broadcast television engineer, an systems architect, and most recently Director of Information Technology, including a role as a HIPAA Security Officer for behavioral health and multi-specialty medical providers.
