The International Collegiate Programming Contest

The International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) is a multi-tier, team-based, competition involving a global network of universities hosting regional teams that advance to the ICPC World Finals. Participation has grown to several tens of thousands of the finest students and faculty in computing disciplines and auite simply, it is the oldest, largest, and most prestigious programming contest in the world. This year the ICPC World Finals will be held at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City.  Best of luck to all the participants!

KT Connections held an educational lunch and learn with 15 attendees to discover all that Toshiba offers with their Telephony solutions. This included all the Toshiba platforms from Strata CIX, IP Edge, VIP Edge and UC Edge. It was a valuable session to learn about all the integration and upgrade paths between all platforms.

KT Connections was excited to host the latest Chamber Mixer the evening of September 13th and what a success it was!  Rodd Ahrenstorff, said people were asking “How are you going to fit all the mixer attendees in that little place?” Well, much to everyone’s surprise, the building is actually quite bigger than it looks but an outside tent was placed next to the building to provide additional space including a second bar and food station.

The information security landscape is more impactful in the everyday lives of consumers and businesses transactions than ever before.  To address the educational needs of security professionals within South Dakota, a three day event called the DakotaCon held at Dakota State University, brings together information security students and experts. Scheduled alongside DakotaCon was the North Central Region’s National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC); a two day gathering of students and experts in a competitive environment testing their skills at cyber defense applicable to protecting business information networks and systems.
